There’s probably a lesson in there.

Sometimes the best advice for new players is: be more like Felix.

Stop overthinking every discard. Stop worrying about every possible pivot. It’s just a game.

Pick a plan (though maybe wait until after you’ve been dealt your tiles), and give it a shot.

You might win. You might lose.

But honestly, who really cares?

You showed up. You sat down at the table. You spent an evening with other people doing something joyful.

That’s the good stuff.

The tiles go back in the wall. The scores get forgotten. But the people? The laughter? The community? That’s the part that lasts.

June League kicked off last night. Forty-eight players vying for the top three in a cutthroat, heads-down, visors-on battle for mahjong supremacy.

Just kidding.

Mostly we talked about books, prisons, yoga, TV shows, kids, vacations, and whatever else happened to come up while also playing some mahj.

Whether you’re near the top of the standings or firmly in Chump Club, we love having you here.

We’ve got 3 weeks left and it’s truly anyone’s game. See you in a week.

Incredibly proud of this little Club—and even more proud of all of you. For many of you, this was your first time keeping score, timing games, or navigating the risk of a dead hand. That’s huge.
